Process and component design (prefabrication, lay-ups), process sequencing, choice of machines, machine systems, operation planning, planning of operation concentrations, cost analysis of typical vehicle parts plastic forming technologies. Design, requirements – function matching, planning (sizing of mould cavities, mould cutters, design of backsets, use of collets). Design of mould tool production: choice of tool materials, choice of manufacturing processes. Reconditioning of forming tools. Selection criteria for the prefabrication of a tool component, prefabrication technologies (cast, forged rolled, hydroforming prefabrication, etc.). Process and component design for thermal or radial cutting and joining technologies (spot, arc, laser welding, laser beam welding, soldering) for body, chassis and vehicle components. Cost analyses. Design steps for welding technology systems and processes. Presentation of internal relationships (materials, apparatus, tools, equipment).

An overview of cutting tool materials and the direction of development. Design of machining systems and system components for typical automotive components, including: cutting tool design methods: geometric design (design of chip space, chip evacuation, cooling-chamfering, minimum chamfering), tool manufacturing methods: flute milling, back-grinding, back-grinding, spark-machining. Tools for special applications: hard and hybrid materials that are difficult to machine. Defects: deformations, burr formation. Tool wear measurement, edge reconditioning, tool sharpening. Development and economic analysis of tooling variants. Design and construction of tools. Sizing, clamping, guiding, operating and ensuring manufacturing accuracy. Manufacture and reconditioning of equipment. Selection of technological sequences, machines, machine systems, operation planning, and operation concentration planning, and cost analysis. Machine tooling and instrumentation. Plant layout: methodology of technical development, design methods for technological, automotive and repair plants and workplaces according to the principles of project management and the requirements of industry – 0. In particular: methods for designing foundry, machining, plastic forming, assembly, cleaning and painting and repair workplaces (simulation and traditional aspects). New requirements and aspects for the design of the factory of the future.
